CASTLE MARINAS

Castle Marinas operates 11 inland and coastal marinas in England. Growth through acquisition is a core strategy, with the group adding four sites in the last couple of years.

Access to in-depth reporting and software to link the sites were the key drivers. “Harbour Assist was far more up-to-date, for example, being cloud-based. It made the alternatives seem quite clunky,” said Mike Braidley, “We could see that they were listening to the needs of their customers.”

As the group has grown, integrating new sites has been straightforward and stress free. The new marina is up and running in a matter of weeks, with zero downtime and disruption for the rest of the group.

Castle Marinas use the system for dockage, boatyard, commercial tenants, fuel sales and even camping ground billing, as well as for all customer correspondence. Usability is important for an organization with around 70 permanent and seasonal staff: “Marina managers don’t have the time to be tech-savvy, so the system must be intuitive. It can make us look slicker,” added Mike Braidley.
